PSALM 23:1

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (Psalms 23:1 KJV) The Lord is my Shepard. What a powerful statement. David is putting himself under the total control of God by calling Him Lord. He follows this with by calling Him a Shepard, his Guide. David knew all about shepherding, this is what he was. He knew how sheep would follow a shepherd anywhere, but blind trust in them. This is what David was did through out his life. This is what we should be doing. I know I don't always do this and it usually gets me in trouble. But I know He is my Shepard and will take care of me and guide me home.

THE JOURNEY

THE JOURNEY

Life is a journey that God has put us here to take.
Which path you travel is a decision we each must make.
Are you on the path full of broken promises and strife?
Or is your road full of Hope, Joy and Love from the Father?
Do you travel a path that is illuminated by His light?
Or does your road get darker as you go farther?
Are you taking this journey with Him?
Or are you being ruled by this worlds whims?
If you let Him, He will lead you back from where you have strayed,
To His Father's house to forever stay.

So which path are you on. The one that follows God's ways or the one that follows the worlds ways. The good news is God is always willing to help and guide you home.I know I am not always on the right path, but I know that I have the love God and everything that goes along with that. He will pick me up when I stumble and fall, even carry me when I need it! And trust me I stumble more than I want. All we do is to try our best and then trust in the Lord to do the rest. So which path are you currently taking.

1 JOHN 2:3-11

1 John 2:3 - 11 (YLT): (3 )and in this we know that we have known him, if his commands we may keep; (4) he who is saying, ‘I have known him,’ and his command is not keeping, a liar he is, and in him the truth is not; (5) and whoever may keep his word, truly in him the love of God hath been perfected; in this we know that in him we are. (6) He who is saying in him he doth remain, ought according as he walked also himself so to walk. (7) Brethren, a new command I write not to you, but an old command, that ye had from the beginning—the old command is the word that ye heard from the beginning; (8) again, a new command I write to you, which thing is true in him and in you, because the darkness doth pass away, and the true light doth now shine; (9) he who is saying, in the light he is, and his brother is hating, in the darkness he is till now; (10) he who is loving his brother, in the light he doth remain, and a stumbling-block in him there is not; (11) and he who is hating his brother, in the darkness he is, and in the darkness he doth walk, and he hath not known whither he doth go, because the darkness did blind his eyes. So how do we know that you know God and are in fellowship with Him? Good question. John gives us the answer. We truly know God if we obey what He tells us. We obey His teachings. By doing this we show God that we love Him. We can use Jesus as our example. We must love others as He loved us. This isn't any new teaching. God has shown us this from the beggining. Jesus is the truth, the light the way. This we must remember. There are those that say that they doing what is right. They might believe it in there mind, but not really in their heart. Your actions speak louder than words. How you treat others speaks volumns on weather you are obeying the Lord. If you really love the Lord, you will love and show compassion to others. So are you walking in the light? Are you doing what God is telling you to do?

1JOHN 1:5-2:2

1 John 1:5 - 2:2 (TMSG) 5 This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there’s not a trace of darkness in him. 6 If we claim that we experience a shared life with him and continue to stumble around in the dark, we’re obviously lying through our teeth—we’re not living what we claim. 7 But if we walk in the light, God himself being the light, we also experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin. 8 If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense. 9 On the other hand, if we admit our sins—make a clean breast of them—he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing. 10 If we claim that we’ve never sinned, we out-and-out contradict God—make a liar out of him. A claim like that only shows off our ignorance of God. 1 I write this, dear children, to guide you out of sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: Jesus Christ, righteous Jesus. 2 When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world’s. The Only Way to Know We’re in Him God is light. That is so comforting. He contains no darkness. He will shed His light on all of our dark places and bring them into the light. He will clean up our life if we truly know Him. the problem is when we only say that and actually continue to walk in our old ways. We also can't claim that we are free of sin. By doing this we say we don't need God and what He sent His Son to do for us. But we have a way to clense ourselves of our sins. This is through our Lord Jesus Christ. His blood paid the price for our sins and washed them away. We just have to have the faith to accept this and to let His light shine on us. When we do stumble, and we will because we aren't perfect, we have Christ as our mediator with the Lord. Confess to Him your sins and trust in Him to wash them away. This is what it means to be in fellowship with God.

1 JOHN 1:1-4

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life, (2) (for the Life was revealed, and we have seen it and bear witness, and show to you the everlasting Life, who was with the Father and was revealed to us), (3) that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. (4) And we write these things to you so that your joy may be full. (1John 1:1-4 MKJV) John, in the opening passages of his first letter tales us straight to the heart of what God wants from us. To be friends with Him and to know love Him. He wants fellowship from us. Something that we all crave, not only from Him but from each other. John knew fellowship with the Lord Jesus for three years during His earthly ministry. John wanted us to know Jesus in this same way. John is saying that if you have fellowship with him and he has fellowship with the Lord, than you will also. He wrote this letter so we would know what true fellowship is. So why is fellowship so important? This is how we get to really know each other. We learn what each of us is like and we develop trust. This in turns fosters love for one another. We start to bear one anothers burdens. This is why we should not neglect fellowship with fellow believers. This is what the Lord wants from us. To intimately walk each day with us.
